Fanita English discusses three inner drives,
survival, expressive, and quiescence, which can be
differentiated by means of their attributes when they are manifested in our ego
states. Recognizing such differentiation is essential for effective treatment,
self-knowledge, and expanded creativity.
An intuitive and innovative transactional analyst,
Fanita English is well known for developing racket and episcript theories and
balanced energy therapy as adjuncts to transactional analysis. She trains
therapists and organizational consultants and has authored many publications in
English, German, French, and Italian. She is also a two-time winner of the Eric
Berne Memorial Award: in 1978 for her work on rackets and real feelings and in
1997 for her work on hot-potato transmissions and episcript theory.
