This video provides a comprehensive framework for
diagnosis and treatment planning using transactional analysis concepts
integrated with traditional diagnostic information. In his presentation, Vann
Joines synthesizes information on life positions, scripts, games, rackets,
escape hatches, personality adaptations, and self and other boundaries with
DSM-IV categories, levels of functioning, types of interventions, and
contracts.
Vann Joines, PhD is the director of the Southeast
Institute for Group and Family Therapy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. A
psychologist and Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst, he is the 1994
winner of the Eric Berne Memorial Award for his work on personality adaptations
and the integration of transactional analysis other theories and methods. Vann
is also a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association
for Marriage and Family Therapy and a Certified Group Psychotherapist. He has
presented his work on personality adaptations worldwide and is the coauthor
with Ian Stewart of two books: TA Today: A New Introduction to
Transactional Analysis and Personality Adaptations: A New Guide to Human
Understanding for Psychotherapists and Counselors.
